BCA is the most growing field of course for Nepalese Students. BCA stands for Bachelor in Computer Application and there are few universities running BCA Course In Nepal. Such as Pokhara University, Purbanchal University and Tribhuvan University.

The Purbanchal university introduced this program in 1999 A.D. It was originally a three-year program but later became a four-year program. Purbanchal University and Pokhara University offer courses under the faculty of science and technology, whereas Tribhuvan University launched its course under the faculty of humanities and social science.  

This post will be about BCA programs in Nepal, specifically those offered by Tribhuvan University. Tribhuvan University is Nepal’s number one university and is the oldest university in Nepal. TU offers BCA in Nepal for all students without any barriers. You can join the BCA program at Tribhuvan University regardless of your age or your faculty. Under Tribhuvan University, high school graduates from any faculty are eligible to study BCA.

BCA, under the Faculty of Humanities and social sciences. And there is good news for the students who didn’t take mathematics in high school, they also can study BCA at Tribhuvan University. 

Whoever wants to study BCA, students should pass the entrance exam, which is conducted by the TU via affiliated colleges from any part of Nepal.

For enrollment, some colleges conduct their own entrance examinations or interviews. TU provides 35 seats per year for each college in the BCA program.

The first step to getting into the TU BCA program is to prepare for the entrance exam, take the entrance exam, and get a passing score. And join the college where you want to study. 

To apply for admission, you must complete the college application form and submit your required documents, including transcripts, SLC certificates, plus two certificates & documents.

BCA Eligibility requirement

Students who want to enrol in the BCA program conducted by TU must have successfully passed +2 or equivalent exams recognized by TU with a minimum of 45% or 2.0 CGPA. Along with that students must score at least a D+ grade in each of the subjects in their +2 exam.

Admission Requirement

Students willing to join TU-affiliated colleges need to fulfil the following admission requirements of respective colleges.

  • Fill College Admission form.
  • Submit +2 Transcript
  • Pay College Admission Charges.
Minimum D+ grade in each subject for all 12 subjects with CGPA 2.0 or higher.

OR 

Minimum score of second division means in 10+2, PCL or equivalent in any discipline. 

Additionally, students who have given their Grade 12 examination and are waiting for the results can take the Entrance exam or wait for the Completion Examination (Purak Pariksha) for Grade 12. 

All required documents should still be submitted at the time of admission. Tribhuvan University publishes its entrance exams between the first week of December and the last week of January of the following year. 

That means from the first week in December 2021 until the last week in January 2022. (Mangshir to Paush) Nepali month of the year. The results will be published in March.

Over 3,00,000 – 6,00,000 depend upon college. 

Students can also apply for a scholarship. The partial scholarship is awarded every year to two academically brilliant students. 

Colleges or campuses affiliated with TU should award scholarships to students who have passed SLC/SEE and +2 from community colleges. To see the details of when you are going to give the entrance exam. 

In case you have passed your 10+2 from an overseas school or India, or any other college, like A level, you will need an extra equivalency certificate.
